Jackie, Neil & Craig took over The Duke pub in April 2007. Located at the top end of Bridgwater high street, The Duke is named after the Duke of Monmouth who was the illegitimate son of Charles 11, who was executed in 1685 after making an unsuccessful attempt to claim the British throne.Unlike our namesake we at ‘The Duke’ no longer have aspirations towards the throne these days, but we have set our sights on providing our guests with a great place to eat, drink & sleep (preferably in one of our bedrooms!).

In our endeavors towards this in our first year we have introduced real ale to the bar, added some new dishes to the food menu, added Wifi access and other changes that may or may not be noticeable.

We have a function room, skittle alley, pool table & Sky TV. To see what special events are coming soon check out the events page.

Food is available all week the menu can be found here. On Friday and Saturday nights our resident DJ’s , rocks the bar with tunes from the seventies to the present day. We have 4 bedrooms available for those who wish to visit Bridgwater and the local area. The Duke hosts a pool team, skittles team and are proud to be associated with the Vagabonds Carnival Club which bases itself at the Duke. So proud that Neil and Jackie can at times be seen on stage helping them raise some needed funds.
